Thanks for coming to YearinCairo.com. I started this site as a window into the sites, sounds, and ideas relevant to life in Cairo. I hope to give a well-rounded perspective of Egypt’s capital, focusing not only on the ongoing revolution, but also the diverse neighborhoods, communities, and activities that define Cairo’s vibrant culture.

As for me, I’m a 23-year-old New Yorker who graduated from Dartmouth College in 2010 with a degree in Religion and Arabic. After studying abroad in Cairo during the fall of 2008, I knew I wanted to come back to this great city, and felt further compelled by recent events to return.
In addition to producing YearinCairo.com, I write and manage content for AslanMedia.com. You can follow me on twitter @wilroth.
